Babinda Boulders - Along the Great Green Way

It is a destination point along the Great Green Way; an absolute must visit! I fell in love with its quirkiness and serene landscapes. Babinda Boulders - a beautiful spot to disconnect and unwind

Enjoy all the Fishing and Water Activities

If you're a fan of fishing or water activities, it offers the perfect setting. Whether it's casting a line in the nearby rivers, embarking on a kayaking adventure, or simply enjoying a peaceful picnic by the water, there are plenty of ways to soak up the serene atmosphere.

Kayak and Canoe (& SUP) the gentle streams

For those keen on exploring the waterways at a leisurely pace, Babinda Kayaking and Canoeing offers equipment rental and guided tours (including Stand Up Paddle Boards). Hire for a 1/2 or full day. This is amazing (at the time we went it wasn’t running :( pandemic woes!) Has awesome reviews on Trip Advisor. Paddling down the meandering streams surrounded by the tropical rainforest is an experience not to be missed. Absolute bliss! This serene experience allows you to appreciate the beauty of the boulders from a different perspective while enjoying the tranquillity of the water. I love to Stand Up Paddle Board, it is truly a relaxing experience and a time when you are one with nature. This is an absolute MUST DO experience.

Experience the Harvest Festival

Experience the heart of the community at the annual Babinda Harvest Festival. This lively event showcases local produce, arts, crafts, and traditional performances, offering a glimpse into the town's vibrant culture. Held every year, time your visit to join the ‘friendliest town’ in Tropical North Queensland.

There are some great little shops in the Main Street. Some really unique wares

The festival often includes exhibitions and displays that highlight the indigenous heritage of the region, providing an opportunity to learn about the rich history and traditions of the local Aboriginal communities.

Admire the Quirky Artistic Expression of the town

I am always on the lookout for fabulous street art. Explore the town’s artistic side by taking a stroll along the Mural Trail. Vibrant murals adorn buildings, depicting scenes from its history, nature, and community life. Each mural is a brushstroke of the town's identity. I simply loved also how the township had knitted wraps and adorned them on the street poles and street furniture. You could feel the community spirit, it was very welcoming. The shops on the main street are home to fabulous artisan wares. Browse along the street and support local business.

Enjoy the Local Cuisine

The town boasts quaint cafes and eateries that serve up delicious dishes, allowing visitors to savour the flavours of the region.

Discover the flavours of Far North Queensland by dining at the local eateries. From quaint cafes to family-owned restaurants, you can get to savour dishes that showcase the region's fresh produce and culinary expertise.

Some great spots are at Babinda Taverna, The Kool Spot café or Amore Ristorante. Another must stop favourite is the local Bakery - Yum!

Indulge in tropical fruits at roadside stalls that dot the landscape. Try juicy mangoes, sweet pineapples, and other exotic delights grown in the fertile soils of the region.
